The Department of International Relations and European Integration of the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (NUPSPA) is pleased to announce the Opening Conference of the Jean Monnet Module EU*Ro Media, European Standards, Romanian Application: The Media Roadmap for Romania’s EU Council Presidency, co-financed by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ Programme.
The event, titled The Romanian EU Council Presidency Through The Eyes of The Media: Opportunities And Challenges, is scheduled for Tuesday, November 24th 2015, at 12 pm, room 428 and is open for attendance to mass-media professionals, academics, researchers, students and civil society representatives.
The opening conference, apart from presenting the rationale and objectives of the project, is aimed at fostering dialogue on the Europeanization of mass-media in Romania and its capacity to consolidate the public sphere, by approaching subjects such as the media coverage of EU-related themes; the media’s engagement for building and consolidating the public sphere to become an active actor in the European Union; and the possibility to enhance the media’s role in informing the public sphere about the high-level responsibility Romania assumed for the second half of 2019.
