The Department of International Relations and European Integration (DIREI) is the branch based on which National School of Political Studies and Public Administration (NSPSPA) has been formed. It is a public institution with legal status that acts in the field of higher education and research (class A university).
DIREI organizes 4 semesters Master’s Degree Programs in the following fields: international relations, security studies and European studies, corresponding to a total number of 120 credits (ECTS), in full-time study form.
All Master Programs organized by DIREI are accredited by The Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (RAQAHE), and share the principles stated in both Magna Charta Universitatum (Bologna, 1988) and Bologna Declaration (1999).
According to both Article 193 of the National Education Law (no. 1/2011) and Governmental Decision no. 789/2011 on the approval of the Assessment methodology used for university rankings and classification of study programs in the field of “political science”, on a scale from “A” to “E”, The National School of Political Studies and Public Administration was rated with “A” .
In the academic year 2013-2014, DIREI’s educational offer included the following programs:
- Security and Diplomacy (SD) – taught in English
- Development, International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid (DICHA) ) – taught in English
- Diplomacy and Negociations
- International Relations and European Integration (IREI)
- Conflict Analysis and Resolution (CAR)
- European Politics and Economy (EEP)
- Evaluation of European Public Policies and Programs (EEPPP)
According to the law, the accepted persons into a Master’s Degree program (2 years) have studentship throughout the entire period of their presence within the program and benefit from a 50% discount of public transport subscriptions, full reimbursement of one of them, rail travel vouchers with 50% discount and other benefits.
The Department of International Relations and European Integration offers Merit Grants, Scholarships and Social Grants from state budget funds or from its own. Moreover, DIREI offers student dormitory accommodation. The buttery is located in the NSPSPA’s headquarters, with a capacity of 50 seats.
