Admission requirements

For all MA programmes provided by DRIIE the admission in the academic year 2019-2021 will proceed as follows:

  • The candidate’s dossier;
  • The academic essay (approximately 5-10 pages in Romanian, English or French on a theme connected to the study domain of the MA programme of their choice) presented during the admission interview.

!!! The essay must be submitted along with the enrolment dossier at the Department’s Secretariat.

In case of the MA programmes “Security and Diplomacy” and “Development, International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid”, the academic essay should be written and presented exclusively in English.

In case of the MA programme “Latin-American Studies”, the essay should be written in English and Spanish. The interview will be carried out in one of the two mentioned foreign languages.

Those that have graduated from BA studies in a domain connected to the one of the chosen MA programme, have the possibility to use a section of the BA thesis for their admission essay.

For the candidates wishing to occupy an unsubsidized place, participation in the admission interview is not necessary. The evaluation will, hence, be conducted based on the academic essay in the dossier and the other documents.

For the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and for those coming from the Diaspora and the Balcans, designated places are provided by the Ministry of Education. Those interested in these places are asked to please contact the Department’s Secretariat for further information.
